Marc Hochar is in charge of investment advisory at Antarctica Asset Management (Suisse) SA. Prior to joining Antarctica in 2007, he founded Melkart Capital Management in 2004, an asset management company specialised in hedge fund investments, where he was the portfolio manager of the Melkart Diversified Fund of hedge funds. Prior to that, Mr Hochar worked for JP Morgan from 1991 to 2004 in Paris and then London. His last position was in the Equity Derivatives and Capital Markets Group in London where he headed a team structuring and marketing equity derivative, equity-linked products and convertibles to corporations in France, Belgium and the Middle East. His expertise included developing and implementing risk management solutions to hedge complex equity, currency and interest rate exposures borne by clients. Mr Hochar previously headed the team structuring and marketing mainly equity derivative products to all clients across that same region, including corporations, institutional investors and private clients. Prior to joining the Equity Derivatives Group, Mr Hochar worked in the Mergers and Acquisitions Group in London (1993-1994) where he was responsible for execution of corporate finance transactions in Europe, North America and the Middle East, with a particular focus on valuations of companies and project finance. He initially joined JP Morgan in 1991 in Paris where he worked on the Government Bond Option trading desk, followed by a year working as a junior banker in the Corporate Finance Department. Mr Hochar graduated from the engineering university Ecole Polytechnique in France in 1991.
